Since Jaipur has world renowned historical monuments like City Palace, Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal & Jantar Mantar, tourists wish to explore Jaipur in more thorough way and that, too, leisurely. It demands favourable climate. The weather in Jaipur can be broadly categorized in three heads – winter, summer & monsoon. The most favorable climate-related months in Jaipur are January, February, March, April, September, October, November and December. With its dry, warm and sunny weather, Jaipur is particularly interesting to be visited in winter season.

Most of the iconic monuments in Jaipur are built of sandstone. In the city center, the City Palace is a huge complex containing various princely buildings in the middle of private enclosures. The façade of the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) is famous for typical Rajput style of architecture reflecting in honeycomb balconies. Nearby, the city of Amber is an ancient clan capital dominated by a fort as well as a palace on the shores of Lake Maota. Its paintings, frescoes and mirrors are beautiful pieces of Rajput decorative art. During summer season, when the temperature rises even above 45 degree celcius, all these monuments seem to be oozing out flames. The hottest months are May and June. Tourists traveling during the summer season will find this rather unbearable.

Monsoon is the rainy season in India. It helps in cooling down the high temperature due to scorching heat during summer season. Though the weather becomes pleasant with high humidity. The monsoon is formed when the intense summer heats the arid desert of Thar, causing a massive area of low pressure. The low pressure region above the Thar Desert attracts the air of the Arabian Sea. This air has high level of moisture due to evaporation from the sea. As moist air cools over the earth, dense clouds are created and bring in monsoon rains. July & August are known for heavy downpour. Unlike many other Indian regions, the monsoon rains in Jaipur fall late in the day allowing tourists to fully enjoy their full day in the city. Rajasthan is probably the best part of India to visit during the monsoon season. Tourists now a days prefer to visit Jaipur during monsoon.
