Visible from the fort is the square artificial lake Nawal Sagar, dotted with several islands. A temple dedicated to Lord Varuna, the Hindu god of water, stands half submerged in the center of the lake. One can see the reflection of the entire city and its palaces in the Nawal Sagar Lake and it is a unique attraction of Bundi. Nawal Sagar is practically covered with water lily plants.
