Day 1

Arrival in Varanasi – Ganga Aarti

As soon as you reach Varanasi, our representative will greet you and taken to the hotel. In time, you will be taken to Dashashwamedh Ghat on the banks of holy river Ganga. Every day, in the evening, a grand Ganga Aarti takes place here – in summer from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM & in winter from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Ganga Aarti, a loudspeaker-enabled community prayer to the holy river, is a pleasant event. It’s definitely a sheer pleasure to watch aarti from gently bobbing boat. It not only offers an opportunity to observe aarti from the front but also creates a backdrop of the reflection of lights of the city when the sun sets and the river darkness. Enjoy and feel the surge of spiritualism. Overnight stay is scheduled in Varanasi hotel.

Day 2

Varanasi ghats, temples & Sarnath tour

Morning of Varanasi is famous and poetically called as ‘subah-e-banaras’. At the time of sunrise, you will be taken for a boat ride in the Ganaga alongside the ghats of Varanasi. These ghats are centuries old stone-built steps leading to the river. Watch out activities on various ghats. In the backdrop of rising sun, the scenes like devotees taking holy dip, worshipping Ganga & Sun god, washer-men at work and burning pyres present a unique spectacle. Come back to hotel for breakfast.

Post breakfast, again proceed for exploring Kashi. The temples in Varanasi draw immense reverence of the devotees. Visit Kashi Vishwanath, Annapurna Temple, Lord Shiva temple in BHU, Sankat Mochan Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Durga Temple and Bharat Mata Temple.

Post lunch, drive towards Sarnath, a sacred Buddhist site, famous for thousands of years old ransacked & dilapidated monastery. Buddha initiated Dharmachakrapravartana at Sarnath by delivering first sermon in front of five disciples. Buddha temples, Dhamekha Stupa , Chaukhandi Stupa and Archaeological Museum are prime tourist attractions in Sarnath. Overnight stay is scheduled in Varanasi hotel.

Day 3

Varanasi- Ayodhya (250 km / 5 hrs)

After early breakfast in Varanasi hotel, depart for Ayodhya. The birth place & city of Lord Ram, Ayodhya finds mentions in the Vedas. It has been described in ancient Hindu scriptures as prosperous city, built by the gods. Present day Ayodhya, situated on the banks of River Saryu or Ghaghra, though garners reverence of the pilgrims but, due to incessant attacks by Muslim invaders, Ayodhya has lost its sheen being bereft of its historically glorious monuments. Earlier also known as Koshal or Kosaladesa, Ayodhya is one of the Saptpuri of India. On arrival at Ayodhya, check in at the hotel to relax for a while. After relaxing a bit, proceed on for sightseeing of Ayodhya that includes visit to several famous temples like Ram Janma Bhumi, Ramkot, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan Temple, Nageshwarnath Temple & Ramkatha Museum. There are many ‘math’ and ‘ashramas’ in Ayodhya and one can visit them too. The pilgrims mostly prefer to take bath in the holy River Saryu before visiting temples. It is a belief among the devotees that taking bath in Saryu absolves one from sins. Overnight stay is scheduled in Ayodhya hotel.

Day 4

Ayodhya – Prayagraj (200 kms / 4 hrs)

After enjoying early breakfast in Ayodhya hotel, drive towards Prayagraj, the city called Tirthraj and situated on the banks of Ganga, Yamuna and Triveni Sangam. Akbar had changed the city’s name as Allahabad but now the city has again adopted its ancient name. Prayagraj finds profuse mentions in religious scriptures of the Hindus. Lord Brahma had carried out ‘Yajna’ & ‘Havan’ here. Ram, Sita and Laxman had visited Bharadwaj Ashram, located in Prayagraj. Sita worshipped Akshay Vat, presently located within the ramparts of Allahabad Fort. This is the place where annual Magh Mela and twelve yearly Kumbh Mela take place since time immemorial.

On arrival at Prayagraj, check in at the hotel. Having relaxed a bit, you will be taken to Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati. One can have holy dip, offer prayers, perform religious rituals and get tonsured here. Thereafter, visit Bade Hanuman Ji Temple and do worship.

Hereinafter, proceed on to visit Anand Bhavan, ancestral house of Jawahar Lal Nehru that has been converted into a museum. Former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi was born. Nearby is located Bharadwaj Ashram and one can visit Bharadwajeshwar Shilingam too. Overnight stay is scheduled in Prayagraj hotel.

Day 5

Drop to Prayagraj / Varanasi railway station/ airport

After breakfast, drop to Prayagraj / Varanasi railway station/airport to board flight / train for your onward journey.
