Swarg Ashrama in Rishikesh

Swarg Ashram is a small township established at Rishikesh on the left bank of the Ganges opposite to the Shri Shivananda Ashram. It was built in the memory of Swami Vishuddhanand which was known as Kali Kamli Wale among the localities as well. Being located around 5 km away from Rishikesh, Swarga Ashrama can be reached by two ways - either by walking through the Ram/Shivanand Jhula which was built across the river or by crossing the Ganges river by boat. Moreover, inside the Swarg Ashram, the pilgrims can see a lot of caves, temples, and conventional cottages (ashrams) as each of them depicting a number of Hindu deities. Numerous religious ceremonies, such as chanting, worship, aarti, religious processions, birth & death ‘sanskars’ (specified rituals) are performed daily inside the Swarg Ashram.
