Celebrated usually during the first week of August, the Teej festival is marked with fasts and rituals that accompany the monsoon clouds. Freshly watered fields look fresh and beautiful, and peacocks can be seen usually dancing during this season, while women sing Teej songs and enjoy swinging in their gardens. The Teej marks the beginning of a series of festivals and fairs that end only with the Gangaur spring festival. Especially in Jaipur, the Teej is celebrated with special fervor and showers of rain on this day is enjoyed all people with fun celebration. It is considered a day for lovers and couples. The boys and girls come from nearby villages to the city, singing and dancing on camels or tractors. The procession in the Teej is the summit of the festival.
