It is said that the town has almost 52 ghats whereas 500 temples including large and small ones. Some temples were destroyed by Mughal ruler Aurangzeb which was rebuilt later. The Brahma Temple is the most famous among all the temples.

A large number of Hindu pilgrims flock in Pushkar round the year. At the same time, the weather conditions also play a very vital role in tourists’ influx, especially foreign travelers. Winter season is most conducive for travel to Pushkar. Though October to March is the most preferred duration for a Pushkar trip but during these months the tariffs of hotels remain high. Rajasthan is a desert state and observes very less rain. So is the case with Pushkar. But during monsoon season, the climate becomes very pleasant. Monsoon tourism is gaining impetus in India among the foreigners. The hotel prices remain low. Therefore, it suites well to visit Pushkar during monsoon season (July to September) to those tourists who wish to explore maximum in a limited budget and comparatively pleasant weather. However, in order to fully enjoy your trip, the best time to get there is between October and November. During this period, Hindus celebrate the festival of Karthik Poornima and Pushkar Fair is held.
