Srisailam, a place of hoary antiquity, is situated in the forest of Nallamalai hills in Kurnool district. Here is the temple of Mallikarjunaswamy,
which has engraved sequences from the Mahabharata and the Ramayana on the walls. The deity is a form of Shiva. On the Sivaratri night (February), the place draws a large
crowd. To reach Srisailam, one can travel by train up to Nandyal and then take a bus/ taxi.
