Though called the Parvati temple, the deity inside is Ganga, the goddess of the celestial river, standing on her carrier crocodile. As per some scholars, this small temple, dedicated to Vishnu originally, contains a representation of Gauri, another name of the goddess Parvati, mounting on a plinth.
