Day 1 :

Arrive in Chennai

The present Tamil Nadu Temple Tour itinerary commences with an assumption that you reach Chennai latest by early noon to ensure today’s sightseeing. On arrival at Chennai airport / railway station, you will be received by our representative and transferred to Chennai hotel. Chennai holds prominent place in Indian tourism owing to long history and glorious culture. The city is considered to be southern gateway to India. After relaxing a bit, proceed on a half day sightseeing tour of Chennai. It includes a visit to Kapaleeswara Temple , Santhome Church, Fort George and National Art Gallery. Day 2 :

Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram

After early breakfast, depart for Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram, a quaint town on the Coromandel coast known for its 7th century rock cut temples belonging to the Pallava dynasty on the sea shore, is reached after half an hour-long drive. On arrival at Mahabalipuram, you will be directly transferred to the pre-booked hotel to check in. Relaxing a bit, proceed on to explore Mahabalipuram and visit magnificent Dravidian style of temples, the five ‘rathas’ (chariots) associated with the great epic of Mahabharata, the shore temple and shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva & Lord Vishnu. Evening is at leisure to stroll on the sandy beaches. Overnight stay is scheduled in Mahabalipuram hotel.

Day 3 :

Mahabalipuram – Kanchipuram – Puducherry

After breakfast, depart for Puducherry. On the way to Puducherry, stop at Kanchipuram to visit ancient holy temples. Kanchipuram, one of the seven sacred cities of India, is famous for its thousand temples. Visit Ekambareswara Temple, Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple, Sri Kailasanathar Temple, Sri Vaikuntha Perumal Temple and Sri Varadaraja Temple. Kanchipuram is also famous for Kanjivaram silk sarees. Post-lunch, continue your drive to Puducherry, a town known for its colonial French connection. Arrive at Puducherry and check-in to your hotel. Day 4 :

Puducherry

Puducherry, earlier a French colony, is known for its exotic culture, an amalgam of Tamil & French heritage. Great revolutionary Sri Aurobindo Ghosh took refuge here and gradually turned into a saint and established an ashram, presently a major attraction of the destination. After breakfast, visit Sri Aurobindo's Ashram and Auroville . The philosophy of Sri Aurobindo Ghosh is inspired by a combination of yoga and modern science. Spend as much time therein as much you wish. Later, come back to hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay is scheduled in Puducherry.

Day 5 :

Puducherry – Chidambaram – Thanjavur

After enjoying scrumptious breakfast, depart for Thanjavur, the ancient temple town. En route visit Nataraja Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, in Chidambaram. Built by the Chola rulers in 10th century, Nataraja Temple is also called Thillai Nataraja Temple. On arrival at Thanjavur, check in at the hotel. Post-lunch, visit Brihadishwara Temple, built during Chola rule in South India. Brihadishwara Temple is also known as Peruvudaiyar Kovil, Rajarajeswara Temple and Rajarajeswaram. Its huge structure and refined architecture are worth watching. Overnight stay is scheduled in Thanjavur hotel.

Day 6 :

Thanjavur – Trichy – Thanjavur

After breakfast, proceed on to enjoy full day excursion to Trichy (Tiruchirapalli). Every tourist on temple tour of Tamil Nadu while in Trichy definitely visits Rockfort Temple & Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple. Rockfort Ganapati Temple, also called Uchipillaiyar Koil, is built upon the world’s oldest rock dating back to 3800 million years. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva & Lord Ganesh, was built in 7th century and is reached by climbing 344 steps. Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, dedicated to reclining Lord Vishnu known as Ranganath, is known for its 21 ‘gopuram’ and 1000 pillared hall. After visiting Trichy, return to Thanjavur to have overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 7 :

Thanjavur – Madurai

After breakfast, depart for Madurai , known for Meenakshi Temple. On arrival, check in at your hotel. Later, enjoy city tour of Madurai covering the famous Meenakshi Temple and Tirumala Naik Palace. In the evening attend Aarti (sacred prayer) in Meenakshi Temple. Overnight stay is scheduled in Madurai.

Day 8 :

Madurai – Departure

After breakfast, you will be in-time transferred to Madurai airport / railway station to board your flight / train for your onward destination.

Cancellation Terms:

50% cancellation if cancelled within 45 days.

75% cancellation if cancelled within 30 days.
