Char Dham Yatra Uttarakhand

  12 Days / 11 Nights

   Haridwar - Rishikesh - Barkot - Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Guptkashi - Sonprayag - Kedarnath - Badrinath - Srinagar

Char Dham Yatra has great importance in Hinduism. Chardham Yatra comprises four major shrines – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. With the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples on Akshaya Tritiya, the Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand commences. The Chardham Yatra, one of the highly popular pilgrimage tour packages in India, takes place only in the summer months. The doors of all the dhams remain closed during the winter months. Millions of devotees come from all over the world to visit the four dhams. Yamunotri is the first ‘dham’ of the Chardham Yatra. The Yamuna accompanies the travelling pilgrims up to its source with breathlessly enchanting natural views. There is a beautiful temple of River Yamuna, worshipped by the devout Hindus as goddess. The temple’s ‘pahari’ architecture and nearby boiling water source are major attractions for the pilgrims. The second ‘dham’ of the Chardham Yatra is Gangotri to worship River Ganga. Ganga is called mother and considered as a goddess. Surrounded by rugged mountains and ancient deodar forests, the Gangotri presents stunning settings. The Gangotri Temple overlooks the tumultuous river River Bhagirathi. Gomukh Glacier, a natural source of Ganga, is 18 km from Gangotri. The third ‘dham’ of Chardham Yatra is Kedarnath in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. One of the Dwadash Jyotirlinga, Kedarnath is the northernmost located Shiva temple, close to the source of the holy River Mandakini. The pilgrims offer holy water of the Ganga from Gangotri on Kedarnath. The trek to Kedarnath is along the River Mandakini. The last ‘dham’ of the Chardham Yatra is Badrinath, also called Baikuntha Dham. On the banks of Alaknanda, the temple of Lord Vishnu presents a cheerful foreground to the magnificent Neelkanth Peak. Chardham Yatra Packages in Uttarakhand from Delhi are highly sought after pilgrimages.
