Ghanerao is a small village in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Ghanerao is located on the Sadri-Desuri State Highway No. 16. Located in Desuri tehsil of Pali district, village of Ghanerao is famous for its heritage, landscape and flora and fauna. Ghanerao has good road network connecting it with other places in the neighborhood like Udaipur and Jodhpur. It has many Jain temples, most of which were built during the time of Mahavir.

The history of Ghanerao

During the 11th century, Ghanerao was under the control of Guhils of Mewar. In the 12th century the Chauhans captured Pali and brought Ghanerao under their administration. In 1606 AD, Ghanerao was under the reign of Rathores. The village Ghanerao remained part of the kingdom of Marwar. In the 16th century the village was under the domination of the Sultans of Delhi. The 17th century witnessed the defeat of the Sultans by the Moguls, led by Emperor Akbar, who ruled the some part of Kingdom Marwar. Ghanerao the village played a significant role in the freedom struggle of India in the state of Rajasthan.
