Kali Mandir

Kali Mandir or Kali Temple is also known as Bhawani Temple. Perhaps the oldest temple in the fort, the presiding deity is Mother Kali, the symbol of power and courage. Located southeast of the fort, it was built by Rana Hamir. Originally built as Temple of the Sun by Bappa Rawal in the 8th century, it was destroyed during the first sacking of Chittaur. Possibly one of the attacks demolished the deity and later Kali Mata was installed. The house of Chunda is located near the temple. There are other temples, inside the walls of the fort like the temple of Annapurna, Temples Jain, etc.
