Almora has very interesting regarding origin of its name. Kilmora, a plant to be utilized in cleaning religious utensils of the sun temple Katarmal, gave birth to name Almora. The people who used to bring Kilmora plant were called Kilmori or Almori. Almora, a prominent tourist destination in Uttarakhand, is worth visiting a place.
