Taj Mahal Night View from Mehtab Bagh is a newly introduced feature in tourism of Agra. The beauty of Taj Mahal in night is entirely different from its day-time view. That is why, the visitors are recommended to behold the marble mausoleum during night time at least once in your life. Unlike many other monuments, the glorious Taj Mahal is not lit up at all in the night because its white marble shines in moonlight. Even in dark, Taj Mahal glows like a pearl.

For the visitors interested in viewing Taj Mahal during night, ASI offers two options – Viewing Taj Mahal during Full Moonlight & Viewing Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh in Night. Recently, ASI has opened Mehtab Bagh, across River Yamuna, for the visitors in the night; thus facilitating viewing Taj Mahal in the night throughout the year and every day. Mehtab Bagh is one of the finest architectural specimens of Mughal architecture. It’s the last garden constructed by them. Mehtab Bagh, a crescent shape garden built along River Yamuna, is an extremely famous spot to view Taj Mahal. The beautiful garden is located in Forest Colony of Nagla Devjit region of Agra. Mehtab Bagh is home to ponds, fountains, sandstone domes and many other structures. Reflection of Taj Mahal in the pond is really beautiful. The garden is beautified by variety of flowers & trees.

Among the heritage sites in India, Agra definitely ranks quite high in the chart to explore historical glory and architectural grandiose of the Mughal. Agra served as capital city of Mughal kingdom for the longest time. The result of a long Mughal reign is reflected in several beautiful centuries-old monuments. Agra is one of the most beautiful cities of India replete with UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Tourism in Agra is marked with Mughal architecture & cuisines. Agra holds prominence in world tourism owing to being the seat of Taj Mahal, a monument of love. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Gorgeous beauty of the monument is unmatched. Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaj Mahal as an epitome of his love. It is built of fine white marble of Makrana. Intricate & detailed carvings on the walls of Taj Mahal are worth watching. The walls are inscribed with 99 names of Allah. Fine display of calligraphy can be observed on the walls in the form of engraved ‘aayate’ from Quran. Taj Mahal is always crowded by the tourists from all over the world. Taj Mahal, due to its many enchanting facets, is frequented by the tourists and visited at different times to observe varying shades & glimmer of one of the most popular tourist attractions in Agra. This is why, the tourists flock to visit Taj Mahal during sunrise, sunset, full moon night etc. Though Taj Mahal Sunset View from Mehtab Bagh has been quite popular among the photography aficionados but very recently Mehtab Bagh has been opened on the south side of Taj Mahal to view the marble wonder in the night. It provides an easily accessible night view of the monument.

As the glow of sun and moon changes with passage of time, Taj Mahal changes its color. This is why, visiting it just once at one time of the day isn’t enough. It looks milky white in the night when the natural light of moon falls upon it, kind of orange-tinged white at the time of sunset and kind of golden during sunrise. Mehtab Bagh, earlier famous for sunset view of Taj Mahal, has emerged as a hotspot to observe the mausoleum in the night. The new ‘Mehtab Bagh Taj View Point’ will be opened to see Taj Mahal in the morning during 7-10 AM & in the evening during 7-10 PM. the tickets will be available on the spot and no prior bookings for a night view will be required for the Mehtab Bagh view. Another most important aspect regarding Taj Mahal View in Full Moon Night from Mehtab Bagh is that the view point in this garden remains open on Friday & during the month of Ramzan.
