Prayagraj, sprawled along the banks of the fabled Sangam, at the confluence of the mighty Ganga, the life-giving Yamuna and the unseen Saraswati is a very real city. On border between two of India’s largest states, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, the Chitrakoot Dham nestles in the Vindhyas, by the bank of the Mandakini River. Day 1

Arrival in Varanasi – Ganga Aarti

Optima Travels welcomes you in Varanasi, the city of Lord Shiva. On arrival, you will be received at airport / railway station transferred to the hotel. Late afternoon, you will be taken to Dashashwamedh Ghat on western bank of Ganga. Watch out the spectacle of Ganga Aarti, a religious ritual of worshiping the holy river regarded as mother and goddess. During summer season the aarti takes place from 7 PM to 7:30 PM and during winter season from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM. It’s definitely a mesmerizing and lifetime experience. Overnight stay is scheduled in Varanasi hotel.

Day 2

Varanasi tour - temples, ghats & Sarnath

Morning of Varanasi is famous and poetically called as ‘subah-e-banaras’. At the time of sunrise, you will be taken for a boat ride in the Ganaga alongside the ghats of Varanasi. These ghats are centuries old stone-built steps leading to the river. Watch out activities on various ghats. In the backdrop of rising sun, the scenes like devotees taking holy dip, worshipping Ganga & Sun god, washer-men at work and burning pyres present a unique spectacle. Come back to hotel for breakfast.

Post breakfast, again proceed for exploring Kashi. The temples in Varanasi draw immense reverence of the devotees. Visit Kashi Vishwanath, Annapurna Temple, Lord Shiva temple in BHU, Sankat Mochan Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Durga Temple and Bharat Mata Temple.

Post lunch, drive towards Sarnath, a sacred Buddhist site, famous for thousands of years old ransacked & dilapidated monastery. Buddha initiated Dharmachakrapravartana at Sarnath by delivering first sermon in front of five disciples. Buddha temples, Dhamekha Stupa , Chaukhandi Stupa and Archaeological Museum are prime tourist attractions in Sarnath. Overnight stay is scheduled in Varanasi hotel.

Day 3

Varanasi – Prayagraj - (120 km / 3 hrs)

After enjoying scrumptious breakfast in Varanasi hotel, depart for Prayagraj, also called Teerthraj Prayag. Located on the banks of Ganga, Yamuna and Triveni Sangam, Prayagraj is the place where Lord Brahma performed Yajna and Sita worshipped Akshayvat. On arrival at Allahabad (Prayagraj), you will directly be taken to ‘Sangam’ (the confluence of three holy rivers – Ganga, Yamuna & invisible Saraswati) to have holy dip into it and perform religious rituals as per your belief. Nearby is located Allahabad Fort. Within the ramparts of Allahabad Fort are located Akshaya Vat & Patalpuri Temple. These can be visited by the pilgrims only during Magh Mela and Kumbh Mela. After taking bath in Sangam, you will be taken to Lete Hanuman Ji or Bade Hanuman Ji Temple, adjacent to the fort, to do ‘darshan’ and offer prayers. Hereinafter, you will be transferred to the pre-booked hotel.

Post lunch, visit Anand Bhawan or Swaraj Bhawan, the ancestral house of former prime ministers Jawahar Lal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. The building has been now converted into a museum and has been well kept. Nearby is located Bharadwaj Park. It is the place where Bharadwaj Ashram was located. Sage Bharadwaj had established a ‘shivalingam’ here, later known as ‘Bharadwajeshwar Sgivalingam’. Pay homage and take blessings. Overnight stay is scheduled in Prayagraj hotel.

Day 4

Prayagraj – Chitrakoot (150 km /3 hrs) – Prayagraj (150 km /3 hrs)

After early morning breakfast, depart for Chitrakoot, the holy site which is spread over Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Chitrakoot used to be a forested land and was a preferred destination for the sages and saints to do penance and meditation. Ram, Sita & Laxman spent eleven years of their exile in the jungles of Chitrakoot. Therefore, there are many places associated with Lord Ram and the pilgrims and devotees reach Chitrakoot Dham in large numbers. Chitrakoot tour includes Ram Ghat, Hanuman Dhara, Sita Kund and Sati Anusuya Ashram and Kamadgiri & Gupt Godavari. Kamadgiri is a holy mountain and is circumambulated by the pilgrims. Gupt Godavari is a cavern located at a distance of 19 km south of Ram Ghat. In the evening, drive back to have overnight stay in Prayagraj hotel.

Day 5

Drop to Prayagraj / Varanasi railway station/ airport

After breakfast, drop to Prayagraj / Varanasi railway station/airport to board flight / train for your onward journey.

Cancellation Terms:

50% cancellation if cancelled within 45 days.
